I’ve purchased countless statement sweaters—bold colors, unexpected texture, you name it—but the ones I wear over and over again are the classics. That’s why I’m grabbing the Carolyn sweatermade from 100-percent merino wool, while it’s on sale for $53. The no-fuss crewneck goes with everything, from jeans to slip skirts, and is available in seven colors. Something to note, though, is that it’s designed to be fitted; if you prefer something a little roomier, consider going up one to two sizes.

Reese Witherspoon turned me on to bootcut jeans, whose subtle kick out can make legs look instantly longer, so I’m thinking of grabbing this shopper-loved pair while it’s 40 percent off. These are available in sizes 23-37, three heights—classic, petite, and tall—and are made from a stretchy cotton blend. According to fans, that material “forms to your body” while being so comfortable that you’ll wear the jeans all day without ever thinking about them.
Bouclé Shirt-Jacket

I love soft things, which is what initially attracted me to this shirt-jacket. But upon closer inspection, I became obsessed with how the topper pairs cozy with chic. You get soft bouclé fleece and a slightly oversized silhouette with polished details like that collar and those gold buttons. This is a style you’ll find dresses up and down with ease.
Scoopneck A-Line Midi Dress

A black midi dress is something I think every wardrobe needs because it’s so easy, but always looks good. You can wear it with sneakers, dress it up with heels and statement jewelry, or—my personal favorite—pair the style with knee-high boots and a blazer. This one from J.Crew has an elegant scoop-neck and an A-line silhouette that subtly skims the body before expanding at the hips, which a shopper with an hourglass figure described as “flattering.”
