Anderson Cooper braved Hurricane Milton on Wednesday night.
During a CNN live broadcast, the beloved anchor was seen weathering the storm in Siesta Keys, Florida to report on the Category 3 hurricane. A clip shows Cooper discussing the scene as a piece of debris flies into the camera.
“Whoa! That wasn’t good. We’ll probably go inside shortly,” he said after getting hit by the object.
On X, fans reminded everyone that Anderson loves being in the thick of it. Though he now broadcasts from CNN’s New York studio, he previously spent much of his career covering natural disasters, war zones, and more. Fans pointed out that Cooper lives for the thrill—oh, and, “The tighter the black t-shirt he was wearing, the bigger the disaster,” according to X user @KEBrightbill.
According to TMZ, his broadcast was cut short and CNN host Kaitlan Collins appeared to let everyone know that Cooper wasn’t in danger. Unfortunately, Hurricane Milton has killed at least 11 people, per NBC News.

Anybody who thinks CNN *made* Anderson Cooper do this definitely wasn’t alive and aware of current events in the era where the tighter the black t-shirt he was wearing, the bigger the disaster. Dude clearly lives for this kind of thing and doesn’t get to do it much anymore. https://t.co/rusTmnMlcT

I like how CNN sees no problem with putting Anderson Cooper smack dab in the center of Hurricane Milton but somehow draw the line at letting him drink on New Year’s Eve

CNN has been chasing Trump for so long there’s a whole generation of people who don’t know this is Anderson Cooper in his element.
Just wait til tomorrow when he whips out that black, short sleeve t shirt pic.twitter.com/CNlC7s8a6i

What does putting Anderson Cooper on a pier in the middle of the ocean at the height of a hurricane in its center achieve in informing viewers. It’s like 120mph winds. Get my sweet porcelain glass anchor inside

Anderson Cooper just out here getting doinked in the head by hurricane debris. CNN’s about to get haunted by the ghost of Gloria Vanderbilt so bad. pic.twitter.com/cyee9yGzln
